Your future

After your bachelor's, you can choose to follow a master’s programme, where you can further develop your strengths and interests. Of course, you can also enter a master’s programme at another Maastricht faculty or at another university.  

Master’s programmes

With a bachelor's degree in Arts & Culture, there are a number of programmes at Maastricht University that you can follow.

You can be admitted to the following programmes without having to fulfil additional requirements as they continue directly on from themes and skills within Arts and Culture:

  • Arts and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education (MA)
  • Kunst en Erfgoed: Beleid, Management en Educatie (MA)
  • Contemporary Literature and Arts: Cultural Interventions and Social Justice (MA)
  • Modern Political Culture: Ideas and Discourses in Context (MA)

The following programmes are also good fits for Arts and Culture graduates. They may have additional admission requirements: 

  • Media Studies: Digital Cultures (MA)
  • European Studies on Society, Science and Technology (MA)
  • Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology Research (MSc)

Career prospects

As a graduate of the Arts and Culture programme, you will have many career opportunities. Your deep understanding of our current society and its historical roots, as well as your ability to approach complex problems from a variety of perspectives and practical skills such as discussion leadership and presentation skills, will allow you to work in a wide range of jobs, including:

  • Policy advisor for governmental and non-governmental organisations
  • Media personality, consultant or writer for radio, TV, newspapers, magazines
  • Curator or cultural entrepreneur for cultural institutions such as museums, galleries or publishers
  • Politics, consultancy, education or scientific research
