Carolina Bustillos (Ecuador), Circular Engineering
I think the mix of biology with engineering is and will be an important tool for a more sustainable future.
My name is Carolina Bustillos, I am from Ecuador, and I am currently in my third year of the Circular Engineering program. I chose the sustainable biotechnology concentration, because I think the mix of biology with engineering is and will be an important tool for a more sustainable future. My experience so far with my concentration of choice has enriched me with theory about genetics and cell biology, as well as with skills to study and manipulate organisms or their biological processes. With this knowledge, one could potentially collaborate in producing industrial alternatives, like fuel from biological feeds, or in creating a sustainable production of food.
In the future, I would like to pursue a job that involves applied biotechnology with ecology in order to be involved in projects of animal conservation or maybe applied biotechnology for the production of useful molecules.
