The chemical industry plays an essential role in energy and feedstock transition. When chemical building blocks become green, many value chains downstream improve their footprint: automotive, textiles, building materials, you name it.

Brightsite is committed to creating a sustainable and competitive chemical industry by introducing and demonstrating circular processes wherever possible. It requires system thinking, multidisciplinary approach, cross industry-sector supplies (agro / recycling / high tech equipment). The transition requires engineers capable of dealing with this new reality; this new chemical system. For that we need new education and new curricula.

We are extremely proud that Maastricht University is starting the new bachelor Circular Engineering: together we will make the transition happen.
