Career perspectives for psychologists

The average alumnus of our faculty needs approximately 3 months to find their first job. 43% finds a job within a month of their graduation. The average gross income of our graduates 1.5 years after graduation is € 2,019 (Source: WO-monitor ROA). 

Compared to other psychology programmes in the Netherlands, Maastricht University graduates are more likely to end up in research positions. They pursue PhDs or find jobs as researchers.

Working as a healthcare psychologist

If you'd like to work as a healthcare psychologist in the Netherlands, you'll have to complete a post-graduate programme after you've finished your master's degree. This is a 2-year limited seat training programme that you'll follow while working as a psychologist. Becoming a healthcare psychologist in other countries
