Why this programme?
The international labour market is changing rapidly, and with it work and organisational practices. By understanding these changes, organisations can adapt to new developments. This is where work and organisational psychologists come in. To assist organisations in their sensemaking and interventions, psychologists need to possess basic and applied research competences. The International Joint Master of Research in Work and Organizational Psychology addresses a wide range of topics from organisational behaviour, to entrepreneurship practices, to advanced research methods, and it familiarises you with types of research that are relevant in academic and professional settings (like evaluation research, translational research, and intervention research).
Each form of research has its own set of methods and forces researchers to identify and engage with the context in which they operate. Researchers who seek a positive impact of their outputs need to show competences such as:
- translating laboratory findings to large organisations
- designing evidence-based interventions
- valorisation and commercialisation of research outputs
- communicating results to society
- interfacing with entrepreneurs
