Are you interested in understanding how digital technologies are changing the world? Are you eager to develop knowledge and skills to ensure that digital technologies result in good outcomes for different social groups? Are you open to various disciplinary perspectives and willing to learn how to combine them? Then the new bachelor’s programme in Digital Society might be right for you.
The Digital Society bachelor’s programme will provide you with tools to better understand the history of the digital revolution and the impact of digitalisation on today’s society, culture and politics so that you can play an effective role in shaping the digital transformations of tomorrow.
Tara is originally from Montenegro and moved abroad to study in Maastricht because her sister, who studies at FASoS as well, convinced her to do so.
Why Tara chose to study Digital Society:
“My goal is to get an active role in shaping the digital transformations of the future. I would like to this by putting in practice the knowledge and skills I gained in the bachelor Digital Society. In the future I would like to work on developments that are beneficial to society. At the moment, I’m doing a minor at the School of Business and Economics about entrepreneurship. Eventually, I also want to complement my knowledge about society with business skills by doing a master’s degree in business. I first learned about Maastricht and Maastricht University through my sister, who also studies here. Apart from the high-quality programmes that the university offers, I really fell in love with the city. I would describe living here as living in a postcard. It’s full of beautiful scenery, colourful houses and cobblestone streets. So, it’s a very beautiful city to live in and to explore during my studies!”
Volg Tara:
“My goal is to get an active role in shaping the digital transformations of the future that are beneficial to society as a whole.”
