My name is Sole. I'm Italian, and I’m currently studying the International and European Tax Law Master's at Maastricht University, specializing in Tax and Technology. Next year, I’ll be working as a tax consultant at EY in Luxembourg.
The Tax and Technology specialization is not about how to tax technology but about leveraging technology to simplify and improve the world of tax. We explore what technology is and how it can be used by tax authorities and businesses to make tax processes more efficient and accessible for everyone.
One of the things I value most about studying here is the professors and lecturers. Compared to other universities, they are highly engaged with students. The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method creates a unique experience where you work in small groups with the professor, making it a more interactive and personal learning environment. The professors bring valuable insights from their practical experience, which makes the courses highly relevant and engaging.
My favorite course in the Master's is Computational Science of Taxation, which we take during period 4. It was the first time I experienced such an intersection of subjects, where we applied technology directly to tax. The course opened up a new world for me, showing how technology can be a powerful tool in the field of taxation.
If you’re interested in this Master's, feel free to check the university’s website for more information or connect with the Instagram ambassador listed there. You can also contact the university directly or visit us during the Open Day.
You get really practical knowledge and the professors are really approachable.
