The first course on Human Physiology – which is compulsory for this course - focused on the specific characteristics and mechanisms of the normal homeostasis in the human body. In this follow-up course disturbances in physiological function (homeostasis) resulting in disease will be studied and used to deepen the knowlegde on human endocrinology. These disturbances will be studied through the presentation of patient cases examplified by; hypertension, renal failure, infertility, steroid abuse, diabetes and starvation. Attention will also be paid to the treatment of these diseases.
