EPC Claim Interpretation
Full course description
This course is a Common Core module of the IPKM and provides an insight to the theory and practice of interpreting patent claims. Students will be offered an insight into how to interprete claims. Subject discussed in the module are: function of the claims, claim categories, disclosure of the invention, extent of protection and infringement.

Course objectives
At the end of this course, the student is conversant with issues concerning claim categories, disclosure and clarity of patent claims, as well as the influence of prior art on the patentability of claims, the interpretation of claims and infringement.
