Research and Writing in European Studies
Full course description
This course offers a general introduction into academic reading and writing. Students will be introduced to specific conventions and requirements of academic publications in the humanities, with particular attention to research in the domain of European Studies. Among the specific tasks trained in the course: analyzing a research paper; writing a summary and a compare & contrast paper; giving and receiving feedback; planning academic writing tasks; using APA. Students will work with texts about topics they are working on for the parallel course Imagining Europe. This will further their comprehension of those topics and help them improve their general study skills, reading skills and writing skills.
