  • UM Law Faculty holds high position in 2024 THE subject ranking

    In the 2024 rankings the faculty holds the 19th position. Looking at all law faculties within the European Union, we are very proud to see that we also kept the fourth place in this prestigious ranking.

    Covering 13 subject areas, Times Higher Education’s (THE) annual World Subject Rankings provides an overview of the best places in the world to study a chosen discipline. The rankings table for LAW uses the same range of 6 performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings combined with scores provided under the following five categories: Teaching, Research, Citations, International outlook, and Industry income.

  • UM is the 13th best Young University in the world

    The Young University Rankings 2020

    Maastricht University ranked 13th place in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) 'Young Universities' ranking for best young universities in the world. UM is proud that its efforts, including in the fields of education and research, have been rewarded in this ranking.

    In the 2021 QS 'Top 50 Under 50' (best universities in the world under 50 years old), UM rose from 23rd to 19th place. 

    These special rankings for young universities are published to give an indication as to which universities are expected in the future to become the top universities worldwide.
