Isabella Barale (Italy), Maastricht Science Programme
MSP best represents the extraordinary internationality of the Maastricht University student body.
One of my favorite things about MSP is the international environment. It is always so fascinating to me, the multitude of nationalities of the students that attend the programme. When I get introduced to my tutorial classmates in every new course, it is almost hard to hear the same nationality twice. MSP best represents the extraordinary internationality of the Maastricht University student body.
The international atmosphere, associated with the small size of the programme, helps to build a community sense between students. Students have the power to contribute to this community by joining extracurricular projects, like clubs and committees.
The staff is also international. Many teachers and tutors come from different countries and are currently in Maastricht to conduct research. It is very easy to approach them and ask about their current field of work. During project periods, you will be able to be part of such research. But MSP also offers many more ways to do research and put to practice all the knowledge you gain during class. You can have the opportunity to join the Honours programme, the iGem team, or other projects. Sometimes students are also able to conduct interships alongside their educators.
