Understanding thermodynamics is essential for any engineer as it is key to understanding the functioning of a wide range of mechanical and electronic devices and the principles behind chemical reactions. Building on mathematical insights of prior courses, you learn about key concepts such as entropy, enthalpy, free energy, temperature and heat. You apply theory on technologies like heat pumps and batteries and explain the potential and limitations of circular engineering.Doelstellingen van dit vak
At the end of this course, you are able to: - Understand, explain and apply basic thermodynamic principles - Reproduce knowledge on the thermodynamic working mechanisms behind reactors and machines - Perform basic calculations of thermodynamic quantities in relation to macroscopic quantities - Apply the thermodynamic concepts to predict the potential and limitations of future circular chemical process.Voorwaarden
