At the end of this skills training, you are able to: - Collect scientific data in a correct way: - Access and navigate the scientific databases available through the library system at the university and other scientific databases. - Use proper citation skills as well as writing proper references using Endnote. - Understand the statistical treatment of data including: how to store data in a manner in which it can be analysed, how to summarize data through the appropriate descriptive statistics, and how to deal with uncertainties and errors, - Acquire academic writing skills appropriate for the university level in a scientific environment: understand how to report data and avoid plagiarism and how to use the analysis of the data to support a scientific hypothesis, as well as correct use of grammar and spelling, - Acquire and practice presentation skills with respect to the presentation and communication of scientific results (for specific target audiences), - Understand and apply the basic concepts of project organization and scheduling, - Understand and apply the basic concepts of project budgeting, monitoring and evaluation.
