Reasoning Techniques introduces the student to reasoning techniques that can be used to acquire more knowledge and information from given data. Often the student will encounter a situation in which a limited set of data is available to solve a rather complex problem. In this course formal techniques will be discussed to acquire new knowledge and information based on the given data. Four technique can be distinguished in this course: problem solving using search, reasoning using logic, planning, and reasoning with uncertainty. Each technique covers a different problem setting which the student may encounter. After completing this course the student has gained knowledge and insights that enable the student to find solutions to complex problems. Additionally the student have learned the skills to necessary for building complex expert or decision-support systems.Voorwaarden
