Introduction to Neuroscience
Volledige vakbeschrijving
This course begins with the study of the nervous system structure, ranging from the macroscopical to microscopical level, and its development. Next, the fundamental mechanisms by which information flows within and between nerve cells will be addressed. This includes the aspects of membrane permeability, action potential generation and propagation, synaptic transmission, post-synaptic mechanisms of signal integration and the construction of neural circuits. Finally, the vascular system and the microenvironment of the brain will be discussed.Doelstellingen van dit vak
