Migration Studies: Flows and Concepts

This course will examine the following concepts in contemporary migration studies: forced migration, internal displacement and refugees; irregular and transit migration; integration, transnationalism and social cohesion; return migration and reintegration; and migration and development. The course will introduce students to both the complexities and challenges of migration and the potential positive effects of migration. Throughout the course multiple case studies will be examined to highlight different migrant concepts and flows.Doelstellingen van dit vak
